The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed LB Jason Williams to a contract and placed LB Brandon Magee on season-ending injured reserve to make room for their new addition, per Scott Smith.
Tampa Bay has sustained a few injuries at linebacker, so it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see them bring in some help this week.
It didn’t take long for Williams to find a new opportunity as he was waived by the Panthers just last week.
Williams, 28, is a former third-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys, who was later claimed off of waivers by the Panthers. He re-signed with Carolina back in March, but has played a limited role in 2014.
While he’s been active for 11 games this season, he has recorded just four tackles.
