Latest Regarding Josh Rosen Trade Talks Between Cardinals & Dolphins

Update:

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cardinals and Dolphins are in trade talks regarding a deal for Josh Rosen and it’s likely “Miami Dolphins or bust” at this point.

According to Rapoport, the price to get a deal done is “somewhere around a second-round pick.”

Rapoport believes a trade could take place between the two teams while Miami is on the clock. However, if they’re unable to complete a deal that point, Rapoport says it’s possible there’s no other deal to made during the draft.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cardinals have been talking with the Dolphins about a potential trade for QB Josh Rosen.

Rapoport says that nothing is imminent between the two teams, but Miami has been doing work on Rosen for a few weeks after it became clear that he was going to be available. However, Rapoport says that Arizona has no intention of just giving him away.

While that may be the case, the Dolphins are in a decent position, as the Giants and Redskins both took quarterbacks in round one and are no longer in the picture for Rosen.

Robert Klemko reports that the Cardinals were looking for a first-round pick in return for Rosen.

The Cardinals have said that they’re willing to carry Rosen as a backup if need be and wait to trade him at a later point. Although, it would make sense to see them move him tonight if they can get close to the kind of compensation they’re looking for.

Rosen, 22, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2018. He signed a four-year, $17,664,284 contract that includes an $10,926,792 signing bonus.

The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Cardinals to pick up in 2021.

In 2018, Rosen appeared in 14 games for the Cardinals and completed 55.2 percent of his passes for 2,278 yards, 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

We’ll have more regarding Rosen as the news is available.
