Cardinals GM Steve Keim On Josh Rosen Being Their QB: “He Is Right Now. For Sure.”

On Wednesday, Cardinals GM Steve Keim was asked if Josh Rosen is their starting quarterback moving forward.

“Is Josh Rosen our quarterback?” Keim said, via 98.7 Arizona Sports. “Yeah, he is right now. For sure.

This isn’t going to do much for putting the idea of the Cardinals taking Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray at No. 1 overall to rest.

A few weeks ago, Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury was asked about the increasing speculation that they could target Murray with the No. 1 overall pick and said that he understands the chatter but added: Josh (Rosen) is our guy.

Murray has the same agent as Kingsbury, who previously said he would take Murray with the No. 1 overall pick.

Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill also mentioned that they’re focused on building upon the foundation they currently have in place including Rosen.

“Josh is a smart guy, he’s been around and he’s seen what happens year in and year out,” Bidwill said in an interview on 98.7 Arizona Sports, via AzCardinals.com. “There’s always a lot of speculation that turns out to not be true.

“But moving forward, we’re going to continue to build this team and build around the foundation that we have.

Rosen, 22, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2018. He signed a four-year, $17,664,284 contract that includes an $10,926,792 signing bonus.

The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Cardinals to pick up in 2021.

In 2018, Rosen appeared in 14 games for the Cardinals and completed 55.2 percent of his passes for 2,278 yards, 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
