Cardinals Have More Issues Than Just A QB

While their record may indicate that they were not the worst team last season, you could easily make the case that their roster was the most devoid of talent.

Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic takes a look at some of the positions other than quarterback that the Cardinals will have to address during the offseason.

Somers writes that Arizona’s offensive line will have to be addressed early on because they will be without LG Alan Faneca who retired and both RG Deuce Lutui and C Lyle Sendlein will be free agents. Shoring up their offensive line will be a necessity for the Cardinals no matter who is playing quarterback for them.

WR Steve Breaston will have to be re-signed and Larry Fitzgerald‘s contract will be up at the end of the 2011 season so there are plenty of questions marks regarding their receiving core.

Somers also mentions that will also have to find some backup options for the defensive line.

The Cardinals still appear to be the favorites for Kevin Kolb but they will need to strengthen their roster depth before they can start talking about returning to another Super Bowl.
