Cardinals Hiring Byron Leftwich As QBs Coach

Alex Marvez of the Sporting News is reporting that the Cardinals are hiring Byron Leftwich as their new quarterbacks coach.

According to Marvez, the Cardinals are moving Freddie Kitchens to RBs coach, replacing Stump Mitchell, who left the team’s coaching staff.

Leftwich, 37, is a former first-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2003. He spent four years in Jacksonville before playing for a number of teams including the Falcons, Steelers and Buccaneers.

Last year, the Cardinals hired Leftwich as a coaching intern during training camp and tasked with helping their quarterbacks during the summer.

This will be his first full-time position as an NFL coach.
