Cardinals Hosting CB Brandon Flowers For Visit, Patriots Also Interested

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that free agent CB Brandon Flowers is visiting with the Cardinals on Wednesday and has also been talking to the Patriots.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen an update regarding Flowers. However, the Cardinals could really use some depth at cornerback and Flowers is one of the best available options at the cornerback position.

For what it’s worth, the Steelers previously expressed some level of interest in Flowers, but there hasn’t been an update about this possibility since March.

Flowers, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2008. He signed a four-year, $36.4 million contract that includes $20.5 million guaranteed with the Chargers back in March of 2015 and was set to make a base salary of $9 million for the 2017 season when he was released by Los Angeles.

In 2016, Flowers appeared in six games for the Chargers and recorded 28 tackles, one interception returned for a touchdown and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 48 cornerback out of 120 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
