Cardinals “Making A Lot Of Noise” About Possibly Trading Up

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Cardinals are “making a lot of noise about moving up” in the first round.

Rapoport adds that while it remains to be seen whether they’ll actually trade up for a quarterback, Arizona is “definitely doing due diligence” regarding potential deals.

The Arizona Cardinals may be the team to watch at this point,” Rapoport said on “Up To The Minute Live” Tuesday, per Shane Dale. “They certainly seem like they’re making the most phone calls about possibly moving up for a quarterback … it’s safe to assume that 5 or 6 could be potential slots to trade for a quarterback.”

None of this should come as a big surprise, considering that the Cardinals have long-term questions at quarterback with Sam Bradford in place as their starter.

Recent reports have indicated that it’s possible a quarterback such as Josh Allen or Josh Rosen could fall a bit to open the draft, which could entice teams such as the Bills, Dolphins and Cardinals to move up.

Rapoport singled out the Broncos and Colts as teams willing to move back, but for a team like the Cardinals, it could make more sense for them to wait to see if a quarterback target is still on the board and No. 8 or so and call the Bears about a potential deal.

We’ll have more regarding Cardinals as the news is available.
