Cardinals OT Bobby Massie Suspended 3 Games For Substance Abuse Violation

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Cardinals OT Bobby Massie has been suspended three games for violating the league’s Substance Abuse Policy.

  • Massie is reportedly appealing the suspension at this point in time.

Cardinals HC Bruce Arians said the starting right tackle position is Massie’s to lose, but this could open the door for first-round pick D.J. Humphries to secure the job for at least the start of the regular season.

Massie, 26, is entering the final year of his  four-year, $2.543 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $660,000 for the 2015 season.

In 2014, Massie appeared in all 16 games for the Cardinals and played every offensive snap.
