Cardinals Place OT Marcus Gilbert & TE Maxx Williams On NFI List

The Arizona Cardinals officially placed TE Maxx Williams and OT Marcus Gilbert on the non-football illness list on Sunday.

Gilbert, 32, is a former second-round pick of the Steelers back in 2011. He is in the final year of his six-year, $30.815 million contract that included a $7.65 million signing bonus and set to make a base salary of $4,865,103 for the 2019 season.

The Steelers traded Gilbert to the Cardinals for a sixth-round pick last year. However, he was later placed on injured reserve with a knee injury.

Arizona re-signed Gilbert this past March to a one-year contract worth up to $3.75 million.

In 2018, Gilbert appeared in five games for the Steelers. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 41 overall offensive tackle out of 80 qualifying players.

Williams, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Ravens back in 2015. Williams played out the final of his four-year, $4.052 million contract before agreeing to a one-year deal with the Cardinals in 2019.

Arizona later signed Williams to a two-year extension in November.

In 2019, Williams appeared in all 16 games for the Cardinals and caught 15 passes for 202 yards receiving and one touchdown.
