Cardinals Release Veteran LB Larry Foote

The Arizona Cardinals have released veteran LB Larry Foote on Thursday, according to the NFL transactions release.

  • Darren Urban mentions that this is just a technicality, as he was set to be an unrestricted free agent.
  • Foote can now join the team’s coaching staff.

Alex Marvez mentioned earlier in the day that the Cardinals were adding Foote to their coaching staff, so  this appears to be an indication that he was prepared to move on and end his NFL career.

Cardinals HC Bruce Arians said that Foote is still undecided whether wants to still play next year.

In 2014, Foote appeared in 15 games for the Cardinals and recorded 84 tackles, two sacks, one interception and a fumble recovery. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 56 inside linebacker out of 60 qualifying players.
