Cardinals Tried Out Five Players

The Arizona Cardinals brought in five linebackers for tryouts including LB Malcolm Smith, according to Aaron Wilson

The full list of players includes:

  1. LB Deshaun Davis
  2. LB Nick Deluca
  3. LB Nigel Harris
  4. LB Malcolm Smith
  5. LB Ramik Wilson

Of this group, the Cardinals signed Wilson to their active roster.

Smith, 30, is a former seventh-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2011. He played out his rookie contract with the Seahawks and was named Super Bowl MVP before signing a two-year deal with the Raiders in 2015.

The 49ers signed Smith to a five-year, $26.5 million contract that included $13 million guaranteed last year. However, he was released coming out of the preseason a few months ago.

In 2018, Smith appeared in 12 games for the 49ers and recorded 35 tackles, no sacks and a pass defense.

Wilson, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2015. He was waived at the start of the 2016 season but later added to the Chiefs’ practice squad before eventually being called up a month later.

The Chiefs declined to tender Wilson a restricted offer in 2018, making him an unrestricted free agent. He signed with the Rams on a one-year deal worth $750,000. Wilson signed with the Jaguars this past offseason only to be released coming out of the preseason.

In 2018, Wilson appeared in all 16 games for the Rams and recorded 35 tackles, one force fumble, one recovery and two pass defenses.
