Cardinals Worked Out Five Free Agents

According to Howard Balzer, the Arizona Cardinals brought in five free agents for workouts on Monday including G Austin Pasztor and TEĀ Gavin Escobar.

The full list of tryouts for the Falcons includes:

  1. G Oday Aboushi
  2. G Austin Pasztor
  3. TE Gavin Escobar
  4. TE John Phillips
  5. TE Ethan Wolf

Pasztor, 27, wound up signing on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2012. He lasted just a few months in Minnesota before the Jaguars signed him to their practice squad.

The Browns claimed Pasztor off of waivers from the Jaguars at the start of the 2015 season and brought him back on a one-year exclusive rights contract. He signed with the Falcons as an unrestricted free agent in August of last year.

The Falcons elected to re-sign Pasztor to a one-year $880,00 deal back in MarchĀ but wound up waiving him at the end of the preseason.

In 2017, Pasztor appeared in seven games for the Falcons.

Escobar, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2013. He played out his four-year, $4.21 million rookie contract with the Cowboys and was testing the open market for the first time in his career when he signed a one-year. $885,000 contract that included $80,000 guaranteed with the Chiefs last year.

Unfortunately, Kansas City elected to cut Escobar loose coming out of the preseason. Escobar had a brief stint with the Ravens last year before signing a futures contract with the Browns this past January.

After being cut loose by Cleveland, Escobar signed on with the Dolphins in April. He was released coming out of the preseason but returned to Miami last week.

In 2016, Escobar appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys and caught four passes for 30 yards receiving and one touchdown.
