Cardinals Worked Out Four Players Including DE Ryan Russell

According to Howard Balzer, the Arizona Cardinals brought in four players for a workout on Tuesday including LB Ufomba Kamalu, DE Ryan Russell, CB Linden Stephens and CB Ronald Zamort

Of this group, the Cardinals signed Kamalu to their practice squad.

Russell, 26, is a former fifth-round pick by the Cowboys of the 2015 NFL Draft. He was entering the second year of a four-year, $2,482,988 rookie deal before he was unfortunately among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason in 2016.

The Cowboys later signed Russell to their practice squad only to cut him loose a few days later. The Buccaneers signed him to their practice squad and eventually promoted him to the active roster.

Unfortunately, Tampa Bay declined to tender Russell a contract this offseason, making him an unrestricted free agent. He signed a one-year deal with the Bills back in July but was among Buffalo’s final roster cuts.

In 2017, Russell appeared in 14 games for the Buccaneers and recorded 17 total tackles and two sacks.
