Chargers Agree To Terms On A Three-Year Deal With DT Brandon Mebane

The Chargers announced that they have agreed to terms on a three-year contract with former Seahawks DT Brandon Mebane.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported earlier today that the Seahawks are working to re-sign Mebane, so it appears that he could have been offered a more lucrative deal by San Diego.

Interesting enough, Mebane previously mentioned during an interview with 710 ESPN’s “Justin and Gee that he would “love to” return to Seattle and finish out his career with the team, so his departure could come as a bit of a surprise.

Mebane, 31, was taken in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft and is now in position to be an unrestricted free agent.

In 2015, Mebane appeared in 15 games for the Seahawks and recorded 24 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 70 interior defensive lineman out of 123 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2016 Free Agents list.
