The Los Angeles Chargers officially designated DB Adrian Phillips to return from injured reserve on Thursday.
This officially opens a three-week window of time for Phillips to practice with the team before Los Angeles will need to add him to their active roster.
Los Angeles put Phillips on injured reserve a few weeks into the season with a broken arm.
Phillips, 27, wound up signing on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Texas back in May of 2014. He’s been on and off of the Chargers’ practice squad several times since entering the league.
The Chargers re-signed Phillips to a one-year contract each of the past two seasons.
In 2019, Phillips has appeared in two games and recorded 13 tackles and no interceptions for the Chargers.
