Yesterday,ย Michael Gehlken on the Union-Tribune reported that the Chargers areย known to have “serious interest” in Broncos OLย Orlando Franklin.
According to Gehlken, San Diego has flirted with the idea of moving RTย D.J. Fluker inside, and adding Franklin would allowย them to do so given that he has played both tackle and guard in recent years.
However, there will likely be some serious interest in Franklin as Jeff McLane reports that the Eaglesย are “definitely involved” in the bidding for his services.
Last week,ย Metro New Yorkย reported that the Jets are expected to be in running for a number of free agent guards including Franklin, Clint Boling andย James Carpenter.
Franklin, 27, is a formerย second-round pick of the Broncos. He finished playing out hisย four-year, $4,356,000 rookie contract thatย included $1,668,000 guaranteed and is in position to be one of the more interesting offensive free agents in the coming weeks.
Pro Football Focusย has him rated as the No. 13 guard out of 78ย qualifying players last year.ย We have Franklin listed as the No. 19ย player in ourย Top 100 Free Agents list.
