Chargers Promote WR Andre Patton, Waive DE Chris Peace

The Los Angeles Chargers officially promoted WR Andre Patton to their active roster on Saturday on placed DE Chris Peace on waivers.

Chargers WR Mike Williams is dealing with a knee injury, so this is an indication that he will be inactive for Week 2’s game against the Lions.

Patton, 25, wound up going undrafted out of Rutgers back in 2017. He later signed on with the Chargers, but was waived coming out of the preseason.

Since then, Patton has been on and off of the Chargers’ practice squad the past two years.

During his college career at Rutgers, Patton caught 90 passes for 1,164 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns over the course of four seasons and 30 games.
