According to Adam Schefter, the Chargers have re-signed restricted free agent CB Trevor Williams.
The Chargers had already tendered Williams earlier this offseason, so this just makes it official in time for offseason workouts.
The original-round tender will cost the Chargers $2.025 million for the 2019 season.
Williams, 25, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State back in 2016. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and signed on with their practice squad. He was eventually promoted to the active roster.
He landed on Los Angeles’ injured reserve in December due to a knee injury.
In 2018, Williams appeared in nine games for the Chargers and recorded 23 tackles, one interception and four pass defenses.
