According to Adam Schefter, the Chargers have released CB Trevor Williams from injured reserve.
Williams was a starter for the Chargers before getting hurt last year, so Schefter expects him to draw some interest.
Williams, 26, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State back in 2016. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and signed on with their practice squad. He was eventually promoted to the active roster.
Williams landed on Los Angeles’ injured reserve last December due to a knee injury. He re-signed with the Chargers as a restricted free agent this past offseason but was unable to return to the field.
In 2018, Williams appeared in nine games for the Chargers and recorded 23 tackles, one interception and four pass defenses.
