The Los Angeles Chargers have signed Florida State Sย Derwin Jamesย to a four-year rookie contract, according to Field Yates.

James, 21, was taken with the No. 17 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft by the Chargers. According to OverTheCap.com, he receives a $12,432,314ย contract that includes a $7,121,684 signing bonus.
The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Chargers to pick up in 2021.
During his three-year college career at Florida State, James recorded 186 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, three interceptions, two fumble recoveries, and two forced fumbles.
