Chargers Will Pass On Malcom Floyd

Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune writes that Chargers are likely to move on without WR Malcom Floyd in the coming days.

It is virtually certain that running back Darren Sproles and receiver Malcom Floyd have played their last games for the Chargers, and both are expected to agree to terms elsewhere relatively quickly,” writes Acee.

San Diego will have Vincent Jackson for another season at roughly $11 million and is rumored to be considering making a trade for Steve Smith of the Carolina Panthers. If that deal doesn’t take place the Chargers would be stuck without a decent No. 2 option at wide receiver. Patrick Crayton and rookie Vincent Brown could see plenty of playing time but their offense would lean heavily on Jackons and TE Antonio Gates.
