Chargers Working Out Former Patriots WR Aaron Dobson

Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports that the Chargers are bringing in former Patriots WR Aaron Dobson for a workout on Wednesday.

This comes just a few days after the news that Keenan Allen was lost for the season, due to a torn ACL. Yesterday, the Chargers brought in free agent receivers Chris Givens and Griff Whalen for tryouts, so they’re clearly in the market for some help at the position.

Since becoming available, Dobson has worked out for the Jets, 49ers and Eagles, so he appears to be on the radar of a few teams.

Dobson, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Patriots back in 2013. He was in the final year of his four-year, $3.428 million rookie contract that included $1.173 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $872,505 in 2016 when he was waived by the Patriots last week.

In 2015, Dobson appeared in eight games and caught 13 passes for 141 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
