Chiefs Designate DT Khalen Saunders To Return From IR

The Kansas City Chiefs officially designated DT Khalen Saunders to return from injured reserve on Wednesday. 

This opens a three-week window of time for the Chiefs to activate him from injured reserve and add him to their 53-man roster.

Saunders, 24, was the No. 84 overall pick by the Chiefs out of Western Illinois. He is in the first year of his four-year, $3,673,180 rookie contract that included a $915,180 signing bonus.  

During his college career at Western Illinois, Saunders recorded 172 total tackles, 16 sacks, and five pass defenses.
