Chiefs Sign G Jeff Allen, Waive DB Leon McQuay

The Kansas City Chiefs announced that they’ve signed G Jeff Allen to a contract on Tuesday and waived DB Leon McQuay.

Allen, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract in Kansas City before signing a four-year, $28 million contract that included $12 million guaranteed with the Texans back in 2016.

Allen had two years remaining on the agreement when the Texans waived him from the PUP list this summer with an injury settlement.

In 2017, Allen appeared in 12 games for the Texans and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 69 guard out of 77 qualifying players.
