Chiefs Place DB Steven Nelson On I.R. With Designation To Return

According to BJ Kissel, the Chiefs have placed DB Steven Nelson on injured reserve Sunday with the designated to return.

Nelson, 23, is a former third-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2015. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $2.902 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $615,000 and $705,000 over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2016, Nelson appeared in 15 games for the Chiefs and recorded 65 tackles, two fumble recoveries, and 16 pass defenses.
