Chiefs Place DT Khalen Saunders On Injured Reserve, Promote DT Braxton Hoyett

The Kansas City Chiefs placed DT Khalen Saunders from injured reserve, promote DT Braxton Hoyett from their practice squad. 

It’s worth mentioning that the NFL changed the rules regarding injured reserve for the 2020 season and players can return from the list in just three weeks.

Saunders, 24, was the No. 84 overall pick by the Chiefs out of Western Illinois. He is in the first year of his four-year, $3,673,180 rookie contract that included a $915,180 signing bonus.  

During his college career at Western Illinois, Saunders recorded 172 total tackles, 16 sacks, and five pass defenses.
