Chiefs Re-Sign WR Gehrig Dieter To PS, Release DT Braxton Hoyett

The Kansas City Chiefs officially re-signed WR Gehrig Dieter to their practice squad on Tuesday and released DT Braxton Hoyett from the unit.

Here’s the Chiefs updated practice squad:

  1. WR Joe Fortson
  2. TE Nick Keizer
  3. QB Kyle Shurmur
  4. WR Cody Thompson
  5. DB Alex Brown
  6. LB Emmanuel Smith
  7. DE Cameron Malveaux
  8. DT Joey Ivie
  9. G Ryan Hunter
  10. WR Gehrig Dieter

Dieter, 26, wound up signing on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama back in 2017. He was waived coming out of the preseason and spent the year on the Chiefs’ practice squad.

Kansas City brought Dieter back on a futures contract last year only to cut him coming out of the preseason. He was added to their practice squad before eventually being called up late last season.

The Chiefs waived Dieter from injured reserve with a settlement last month.

In 2018, Dieter appeared in four games for the Chiefs and caught one pass for 22 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
