The Kansas City Chiefs officially released LB Martrell Spaight from the reserve/retired list on Monday.
Spaight, 25, is a former fifth-round pick by the Redskins in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $2,517,948 contract when Washington waived him as they trimmed their roster down to the 53-man limit.
Spaight had brief stints with the Jaguars and Dolphins last year before signing a futures contract with the Chiefs in 2019. Kansas City later placed him on the retired list.
For his career, Spaight appeared in 37 games and recorded 87 tackles, four tackles for a loss, no sacks, one interception, a fumble recovery and three pass defenses over the course of four seasons.
