Chris Johnson Likely To Be Back With The Titans Next Season

Titans RB Chris Johnson tweeted that he met with head coach Mike Munchak on Thursday and expects to be back with the team next season.

“I am more excited about this year than any other year after talking to coach,” Johnson said on Thursday, per Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean. “I feel better about some of the things we’re going to do and I want to be a part of it. I feel like coach Munchak wants to put the team back to some winning ways and get things going in the right direction. I feel good about it.”

There’s been a lot of speculation in the past few months that the Titans could look to get out from under Johnson’s $53.5 million contract, but all indications from the Titans and sources close to the team have suggested that he would most likely be back.

If Johnson is on their roster as of tomorrow, $9 million of his $10 million salary would be guaranteed. It’s worth noting that there hasn’t been any formal announcement from the team just yet.
