Colts Place TE Dwayne Allen On Season-Ending IR

Update:

The Colts officially placed TE Dwayne Allen on season-ending injured reserve with a hip injury.

Colts HC Chuck Pagano told reporters on Wednesday that second-year TE Dwayne Allen will require season-ending hip surgery.

Recent reports indicated that Allen was day to day, but after visiting with a separate doctor, it was determined that Allen hip required surgery.

Last year, Allen tallied 45 receptions for 521 yards and three touchdowns. The Colts also drafted Coby Fleener in 2012 as well, so it makes sense that they would look to increase his looks going forward.

There’s really not a lot of options at tight end available on the open market, so we’ll have to see if they elect to bring someone in this week.
