Colts Planning To Sign QB Chad Kelly?

Tim Graham reports that after talking to the Colts about singing as an undrafted free agent, Central Connecticut State QB Jake Dolegala’s camp informed them that they were pulling out of the deal because Indianapolis was going to sign Chad Kelly to a contract.

Meanwhile, Stephen Holder reports that the Colts signing Kelly has been “percolating for a while.”

This is the first reported interest in Kelly since he was cut last year.

Kelly, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Broncos back in 2017. He signed a four-year, $2.464 million contract that included a $64,270 signing bonus, but was waived in October of last year after being arrested on a charge of first-degree criminal trespassing.

Last month, Kelly pleaded guilty to misdemeanor second-degree criminal trespassing and was sentenced to one year of supervised probation and 50 hours of community service. He had the first-degree felony first-degree criminal trespassing charge was dropped as part of the plea agreement.

During his college career, Kelly threw for 6,858 yards while completing 63.9 percent of his passes to go along with 50 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.
