Colts Re-Sign QB Josh Johnson, Place CB Jalil Brown On I.R.

The Indianapolis Colts announced that they’ve re-signed veteran QB Josh Johnson to a contract on Wednesday.

  • The Colts placed CB Jalil Brown on season-ending injured reserve to make room for Johnson.

Indianapolis wound up cutting Johnson a few days ago, but some speculated that he could be brought back depending on how Andrew Luck was doing with his shoulder injury.

Ed Werder reports that the Colts still expect Luck too start Thursday’s game against the Texans.

Johnson, 29, is a former fifth-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2012. Since then, Johnson has played for a number of teams including the 49ers, Browns, Bengals, Chargers, and Jets before signing on with the Colts last week.

Johnson hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since the 2013 season while playing for the Bengals.
