Colts Second-Round DL Tyquan Lewis Expected To Miss 9 Weeks

Zak Keefer of the Indianapolis Star hears that Colts second-round DL Tyquan Lewis is expected to miss nine weeks with a foot injury.

Earlier in the week, Colts HC Frank Reich declined to offer a timetable for Lewis, but made it clear he would miss some amount of time.

“No surgery, just hasn’t been coming along as fast as we would’ve liked,” Reich said, via Colts Wire. “No, we are hopeful we will have him. We’re hopeful we will have him.

Assuming Lewis is in danger of missing nine weeks, it’s likely the Colts will place him on injured reserve in the coming days and consider designating him to return later on in the year.

Lewis, 23, was selected by the Colts in round two of this year’s draft after they traded up to get him. He receives a four-year, contract worth $4,366,054, which includes a $1,255,312 signing bonus.

During his college career at Ohio State, Lewis recorded 112 tackles, 37 tackles for a loss, 23.5 sacks, five pass defenses and five forced fumbles.
