The Indianapolis Colts officially waived WR Chris Briggs and WR Tevaun Smith from injured reserve with settlements on Wednesday.
Smith, 24, wound up signing on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa back in May. He was, unfortunately, among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason but was later added to the team’s practice squad.
The Colts elected to promote Smith to their active roster before waiving him and eventually signing him to their practice squad.
In 2016, Smith was active for two games but has yet to record a statistic.
Briggs signed a future/reserve with the Seahawks back in January but was unfortunately placed on waivers a few weeks after this year’s NFL draft. The Colts signed him to a contract this past June.
Briggs played for Southern Mississippi and Southeastern Louisiana during his college career and totaled 37 receptions for 536 yards receiving and three touchdowns over the course of 36 games.
