Colts WR Reece Fountain Suffers Dislocated & Fractured Ankle

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Colts WR Reece Fountain was carted off during Thursday’s practice after suffering a dislocated and fractured ankle.

Rapoport adds that Fountain is likely to undergo surgery right away.

At this point in the year, it would not be surprising if the Colts placed him on injured reserve, considering we’re just a few weeks away from the start of the season and this injury will end up costing Fountain months.

Fountain had been impressive in recently camp practices, so this is disappointing news for all parties involved.

Fountain, 23, is a former fifth-round pick of the Colts back in 2018. He was waived coming out of the preseason last year and later signed to the Colts practice squad.

Indianapolis eventually promoted Fountain to their active roster in December.

In 2018, Fountain was active for one game, but did not catch a pass.
