Cowboys DE Robert Quinn Undergoing Surgery For Hand Fracture

According to David Moore, Cowboys’ veteran DE Robert Quinn is scheduled to undergo surgery after fracturing his hand in Tuesday’s practice but is expected to be recovered in-time for Week 1.

Quinn, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Rams back in 2011. Los Angeles traded him to the Dolphins in March of last year for a 2018 fourth- and sixth-round picks.  He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $66.575 million extension that included $41.268 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $11.811 million for the 2019 season.

The Dolphins traded Quinn this offseason in a move that freed up $12,932,332 of available cap space while creating no dead money. Dallas sent a 2020 sixth-round draft pick to Miami in exchange for Quinn.

In 2018, Quinn appeared in all 16 games for the Dolphins and recorded 38 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 38 edge rusher out of 103 qualifying players.
