Cowboys Rookie CB Morris Claiborne Suffers Minor Injury

ESPN’s Ed Werder reports that Dallas Cowboys first-round pick CB Morris Claiborne, who has gotten very few practice reps with the team as a result of wrist surgery, has been diagnosed with a minor MCL knee sprain this morning.

The former LSU Tiger is expected to miss just a few practices, but with this recent injury it’s very likely that the Cowboys will not allow him to participate in the preseason opener against the Raiders in fear of aggravating it further. Claiborne is expected to be a huge weapon in their secondary this season, but the decision to hold onto Mike Jenkins looks much better at this point in time.
