Cowboys Sign DE Martez Wilson

Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas reports that the Cowboys have signed former Saints and Raiders OLB Martez Wilson.

  • The Cowboys released DT Everett Dawkins in order to make room for Wilson.

Wilson, 25, has appeared in seven games this season with the Saints, but was recently with the Raiders befor being cut loose. He has accumulated just four tackles and a single sack while with the Saints.

Archer adds that Wilson is expected to play defensive end for the Cowboys, which makes sense given their defensive scheme as well as their lack of depth at the position.

With the Cowboys facing the Raiders on Thanksgiving, it’s hard to say if Wilson will be ready to play. Regardless, this could be Wilson’s final chance at staying on a roster.
