Cowboys Will Start Dak Prescott, Despite Being Limited With Shoulder Issue This Week

Adam Schefter reports that the Cowboys will start Dak Prescott at quarterback in Week 16, despite the fact that he was limited all week and didn’t throw until Friday, due to a shoulder injury.

However, Dallas is not listing Prescott on their final injury report, which means he’ll start in a pivotal division game against the Eagles.

Prescott is specifically dealing with an ACL joint sprain that should fine by the time Sunday’s game rolls around.

It’s worth mentioning that backup QB Cooper Rush has been taking first-team reps this week in case something were to happen to Prescott.

Prescott, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2016. He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $2.72 million contract and set to make a base salary of $720,000 for the 2019 season.

In 2019, Prescott has appeared in 14 games and completed 65.5 percent of his passes for 4,334 yards, 26 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He has also rushed for 235 yards and three touchdowns for Dallas. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 7 quarterback out of 36 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 – 2020 Free Agents list.
