Demaryius Thomas Arrested For Vehicular Assault

FOX 31 in Denver reports that former Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas was arrested is in custody for vehicular assault from the prior car crash he was involved in.

  • Troy Renck confirms the news and adds that Thomas is also facing charges of reckless driving and no insurance in connection with the accident.
  • According to Ian Rapoport, one of his passengers apparently suffered serious bodily injuries and police said that Thomas was driving 70 in a 30 mph zone.

Thomas suffered minor injuries after a car he was driving rolled over. There was another man and a woman inside and all of them were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The woman sustained potentially serious injuries, but they appear to be non-life-threatening, according to police.

The preliminary investigation into the crash indicated that Thomas lost control of the vehicle before it rolled over and eventually stopped on a grassy median. Investigators mentioned that neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor in the crash.

Thomas, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Broncos back in 2010. He’s entering the final of his five-year, $70 million contract that included $43.5 million guaranteed and was set to make a base salary of $14 million for the 2019 season.

The Broncos traded Thomas to the Texans for fourth- and seventh-round picks before the deadline last year. Houston recently released Thomas in a move that freed up $14 million of available cap space.

In 2018, Thomas appeared in 15 games for the Texans and Broncos and caught 59 passes for 677 yards receiving and five touchdowns.
