The Miami Dolphins announced that they are promoted CB Nik Needham from their practice squad to the active roster and waived S Doug Middleton to make room for him.

Needham, 22, originally signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of UTEP back in May. He was among Miami’s final roster cuts coming out of the preseason and signed to their practice squad once passing through waivers unclaimed.
During his college career at UTEP, Needham recorded 212 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, three interceptions, 33 pass defenses, and two fumble recoveries.
