Dolphins Signing Veteran TE Dwayne Allen To Two-Year, $7M Deal

Veteran TE Dwayne Allen texted Josina Anderson on Saturday that he’s “going to sign with the Dolphins.

According to Armando Salguero, Allen receives a two-year, $7 million contract from the Dolphins.

In total, Allen met with four teams including the Lions, Ravens and Bills, but it appears as though the Dolphins proved to be his best option.

It’s worth mentioning that signing Allen to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2019 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.

Allen, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Colts back in 2012. He signed a four-year, $29.4 million contract that included $16 million with the Colts in 2016 before he was traded to the Patriots for the 2017 season.

The Patriots elected to release Allen on Monday.

In 2018, Allen appeared in 13 games for the Patriots and caught just three passes for 27 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
