This appears to be good news for QBย Brandon Doughty, who should have an opportunity to secure the No. 3 quarterback job behind Ryan Tannehill and Matt Moore.
Thomas, 24,ย is a former fourth-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2014. He lasted just over a year in Arizona before he was waived and later claimed by the Dolphins.
Thomas is in the third yearย hisย four-year, $2,652,092 rookie contract, which includes base salaries of $600,000 (2016), and $690,000 (2017).
In 2014, Thomas appeared in two games for the Cardinals, even though they lost Carson Palmer and Stanton for the season. He threw for 81 yards and a touchdown, but completed just a single pass attempt.
