Dolphins Waive QB Logan Thomas & DT Charles Tuaau

The Miami Dolphins placed QB Logan Thomas and DT Charles Tuaau on waivers Thursday.

This appears to be good news for QB Brandon Doughty, who should have an opportunity to secure the No. 3 quarterback job behind Ryan Tannehill and Matt Moore.

Thomas, 24, is a former fourth-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2014. He lasted just over a year in Arizona before he was waived and later claimed by the Dolphins.

Thomas is in the third year his four-year, $2,652,092 rookie contract, which includes base salaries of $600,000 (2016), and $690,000 (2017).

In 2014, Thomas appeared in two games for the Cardinals, even though they lost Carson Palmer and Stanton for the season. He threw for 81 yards and a touchdown, but completed just a single pass attempt.
