Packers head coach Mike McCarthy told reporters on Tuesday that he’s “very confident” that defensive coordinatorย Dom Capers will be back with the team next season.
“I feel very confident that Dom Capers is going to be our defensive coordinator, but you don’t make knee-jerk decisions, said McCarthy,” perย Mikeย Vandermause.
McCarthy added that he’ll “evaluate all our coaches” during the offseason.
He wasn’t too pleased to answer a question regarding the future status of one of his coaches, but it’s not as though idea of considering of change of direction isn’tย warranted. Green Bay’s defense was one of the worst units in league history last season and they’re coming off of an atrocious performance where they seemed incapable of making adjustments to stop the 49ers’ offense.
Odds are that Capers is back next season, but there’s at least a small possibility that they could shake things up in the near future.
