Donovan McNabb Goes Unclaimed

Multiple reports have come out that former Vikings QB Donovan McNabb has passed through waivers without any team placing a claim on him.

This is an obvious indication that NFL teams prefer other options to McNabb and the media that he would bring to their team. It was believed that the Bears and Texans may have some interest in him but ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that Chicago has no intention of signing him.

McNabb would have to learn the Mike Martz‘s system and that would require some time which is exactly what the Bears are without. Caleb Hanie kept them in last weekends game so he figures to be their starter for the foreseeable future.

Houston just recently signed Jake Delhomme and they intend to move forward with T.J. Yates as their starter.

McNabb may not find any takers even in free agency either. A backup position could be his bet but he would likely have to wait and see if another job opens up.
