Doug Baldwin Could Miss Preseason, Doctors Hopeful He’ll Be Ready For Week 1

According to Adam Schefter and Field Yates, Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin‘s knee injury could force him to miss “most, if not all” of the preseason.

However, the good news is that doctors are “hopeful and confident” that Baldwin will be able to return for the start of the regular season.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll told reporters on Tuesday that Baldwin is dealing with a “sore knee” and will be sidelined a “few weeks.”

“It’s a little bit of a problem,” Carroll admitted.

Baldwin, 29, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford back in 2011. He’s currently in the third year of his five-year, $47.5 million contract that included $24.25 million guaranteed and set to make base salaries of $8.25 million and $9.25 million over the next two years.

In 2017, Baldwin appeared in all 16 games for the Seahawks and caught 75 passes for 991 yards receiving and eight touchdowns. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 6 receiver out of 116 qualifying players.
