Eagles Interested In Brett Favre?

Just in case you thought that this was going to be the year that the “Brett Favre returning for another season” were going to finally be over, Howard Eskin of WIP radio in Philly reports that the Philadelphia Eagles “could” be interested in signing Favre as a backup once Kevin Kolb is shipped off.

This isn’t the first Favre rumor that has surfaced during the offseason that never was but the logic is simple in that Favre would give the Eagles an adequate backup option to Michael Vick which is a worthy consideration given that Vick is prone to an injury or two.

The Eagles have since denied any interest in Favre as have the Seattle Seahawks who were also suggested as a possible team of interest. I’ve mentioned this before but it’s worth repeating. Andy Reid and the Eagles really like Mike Kafka and think that he can develop in to a solid quarterback if given enough time. The idea of Favre joining the Eagles for a final Super Bowl run seems great and all but the Eagles are a very practical team. I’d expect them to stick with Kafka rather than add more drama to their team.
