Eagles Making Calls About Trades Involving Mychal Kendricks & Vinny Curry

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Eagles are calling around to see what they can get in trades for ILB Mychal Kendricks and DE Vinny Curry.

The Eagles have had Kendricks on the trade block for the past few years with prior reports indicating that they were looking for at least a fifth-round pick in return for him, so this isn’t a big surprise.

Kendricks, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2012. He’s entering the fourth year of his five-year, $29.896 million contract that included $16.4 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $5.85 million for the 2018 season.

According to OverTheCap.com, trading or releasing Kendricks would free up $4.4 million of available cap space while creating $3.2 million in dead money.

In 2017, Kendricks appeared in 15 games for the Eagles and recorded 77 tackles, two sacks and six pass defenses for the Eagles.

We’ll have more regarding a potential trade involving Kendricks as the news is available.

Curry, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2012. He signed a five-year, $47.25 million contract that included $23 million guaranteed with the Eagles back in 2016 and set to make base salaries of $9 million and $9.25 million over the next two years of the agreement.

There was some talk that the Eagles were likely to explore the trade market for Curry after they agreed to the Michael Bennett deal last week, while they also approached him about a possible restructure so Philadelphia is clearly looking at their options.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing or trading would Curry free up $5 million of available cap space while creating $6 million in dead money.

In 2017, Curry appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles and recorded 42 tackles, three sacks, and a forced fumble. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 22 edge rusher out of 109 qualifying players.
