James has a thigh injury and will be eligible to return for Philadelphia after he spends the minimum three weeks on IR.

James, 24, originally signed on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Illinois back in 2018. He was waived with an injury designation during final roster cuts with an injury designation.

Minnesota cut him with an injury settlement before re-signing him to their practice squad in and eventually calling him up later on in the season. He was among the Vikings’ final roster cuts last year but signed with the Eagles’ practice squad a few days later.

James signed a one-year, $1.52 million extension with the Eagles during camp this year.

In 2019, James appeared in 14 games for the Eagles and recorded 13 tackles, no interceptions and a pass defense.
